Hi everyone,

Im Liz - from Christchurch NZ... ive been in London since May working as an EFL Teacher (with school aged/teens) and doing a little bit of TA work on a supply basis. I decided to look for something more permanent - so following in my mothers OE footsteps i decided on nannying. Caring for children comes pretty naturally when you have helped raise a little brother/been babysitting since the age of 14.

Kind of fell into nannying when one of my best friends became pregnant and i moved in to help her out with her daughter. I miss both of them a lot - esp now as Lydia is talking in full sentences. "hello mate" seems to be a favourite over skype.

Nannying in London seems like a good fit to me, and im really looking forward to working with little ones again and all the different sorts of challenges they bring.

London is huge and it would be great to meet new people/make friends. Actually for all you kiwis out there.. SHAPESHIFTER is playing in She Bu on sat night

Hi all, my name is Michelle Lane and am fresh off the boat, have been here since the beginning of September and so far do not see myself heading home any time soon!

I love London and am excited to start meeting some more people around here as we all know it can be a tad lonely and hard to meet people when your nannying.

I am a live in nanny and look after the most adorable 4 year old boy who as I tell him ‘makes my heart sing’ – All thanks to Karen!!

I am looking at being Local Co-ordinator for the Maida Vale area etc but can't wait to meet you all at our first meet and greet!!

I'm Karen, I am the Live in Consultant in the KiwiOz London office-I helped young Mieke in the post below with her job, so I'm pleased to see it's going well!
I worked as a nanny through KiwiOz in NZ and then the lovely Rachel sorted me out an amazing Live in position in London which is what brought me over here, I lived with the family for 2 years and have officially adopted them as my own! I love them to bits, there really is nothing quite like the relationship you forge with a family you live with and nanny for. (although it was slightly strained when i left them to work for KiwiOz!)
However, I was out on the edge of London and fervently wished i could have met other Nannies, but there wasn't a network like this, so I would totally encourage you all to get on board and meet each other, having that support will make a huge difference to so many girls.
I look forward to the first get together!

My name is Mieke Grooten and I have recently moved over to London from New Zealand to do my big OE!!!! I am currently living and working for a lovely family with 2 children in Queens Park/Kilburn area (North West London), and absolutely loving it!!!
I love that KiwiOz came up with the idea to set up this forum as a way for us to meet eachother and organise fun activities!!! I'm really excited to meet those of you living in London and being able to have a chat about the exciting and busy jobs that we have looking after children!!!
